Privacy Policy

TakeIt ("we," "us," or "our") operates a WhatsApp-based medication reminder service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information. By using TakeIt you agree to the practices described below. Questions: support@takeit.care

1. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, WhatsApp phone number.

Health information: medication names, reminder times, and your responses to reminders (taken / snoozed / skipped). This is treated as sensitive data.

Guardian information: if you add a Guardian, we collect their name and WhatsApp number. We send them an invitation message asking them to accept or decline before they receive any alerts.

Minor users: if you are registering TakeIt on behalf of a minor, we collect the minor's WhatsApp number and medication information. You confirm you are the minor's parent or legal guardian.

Usage data: message timestamps, interaction types, timezone, and usage patterns.

Payment information: processed entirely by Paddle (Merchant of Record). We do not store card details.

2. How We Use Your Information
  • Deliver medication reminders at your scheduled times
  • Send Guardian invitation messages and, upon acceptance, missed-dose alerts
  • Manage your subscription and billing via Paddle
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve, secure, and maintain the service
  • Send service-related communications (not marketing without consent)
  • Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information

Service providers: Meta/WhatsApp (messaging), Paddle (payments), Supabase (database), Resend (email), Fly.io (hosting). All process data only on our behalf.

Guardian: when you add a Guardian, their name and phone are used to send them an opt-in invitation and, if they accept, missed-dose alerts. Guardians can opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Data analytics and research partnerships: we may share de-identified and aggregated data — data that cannot reasonably identify you — with research institutions, healthcare organizations, analytics providers, and other business partners for health research, product development, and analytics. If we share identifiable personal information for such purposes, we will provide advance notice and obtain your explicit consent.

Business transfers: in a merger or acquisition your data may transfer to the successor entity. We will give reasonable advance notice.

Legal requirements: we may disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TakeIt, our users, or others.

4. Children and Minors

TakeIt serves users of all ages, including minors. The account holder must be 18 or older. A parent or legal guardian may register TakeIt on behalf of a minor child by providing the child's WhatsApp number and medication information. By doing so, you represent that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian and consent to the collection and processing of the minor's information under this Privacy Policy.

For users under 13 located in the United States, the parent's registration constitutes verifiable parental consent as required by COPPA. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 in the United States without such consent. If you believe we have done so, contact us at support@takeit.care.

5. Health Data and Security

Medication names and adherence data are encrypted at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authorized systems and personnel on a need-to-know basis. TakeIt is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical advice.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active and for up to 36 months after cancellation for legal and compliance purposes, after which it is permanently deleted or anonymized. You may request earlier deletion (see Your Rights below).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, email support@takeit.care. We respond within 30 days.

Israeli residents: rights under Israel's Privacy Protection Law (5741-1981) and its amendments, including inspection and correction of personal data. Medication data is "sensitive information" under Israeli law.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): right to know, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. To opt out of data partnerships involving personal information, contact support@takeit.care.

8. International Transfers & Changes

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States and EU. We take appropriate steps to ensure adequate protection wherever data is processed.

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via WhatsApp and/or email before they take effect.
